It’s a fine day, begorrah! And an auspicious day to start our Z&V blog! Hope you’re having a happy St. Pat’s – all of Chico has its green on today – every bush, tree, twig and  bar patron cruising Downtown.

If you’d like a celebratory cheese to pair with your Guinness after work, stop by for a Wheel of Cowgirl Creamery’s St. Pat, or a wedge of Cahill’s Irish Porter Cheddar, (see descriptions below) – seasonal cheeses we bring to the Cheese Case for the festivities.

Cahill’s Irish Porter Cheddar: One pint of Guinness goes into each wheel of Cahill’s Irish Porter Cheddar, made in Ireland. The flavor has a floral cheddary nose of fresh butter. This cheese will be a stand out on your St. Patrick’s Day cheese board.

cahills-irish-porter-cheddarSt Pat: Cowgirl Creamery’s Spring seasonal cheese, St Pat has a distinctive green rind that commemorates the arrival of spring in Marin County. Made with organic milk from John Taverna’s Chileno Valley Jersey Dairy, these rich, creamy wheels are wrapped in wild nettle leaves harvested by Fresh Run Farm in Bolinas. The nettle leaves, which are frozen to remove the sting, impart a light, smoky artichoke flavor.st pat cheese
